Polly Peterson

Licensed Massage Therapist

I have been a massage therapist since 1989. I received my education at the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Florida, where I went through a 1,000-hour certification program in massage and hydrotherapy and a 250-hour program in sports massage. After massage school I went through emergency medical technician training and studied to become an athletic trainer at S.U.N.Y. Cortland. For four years I worked in sports medicine with everyone from junior Olympic athletes to weekend warriors. Over the years, I have worked at athletic facilities, spas, a yoga ashram and a hospital. In addition, I have worked with physical therapists and chiropractors. However, since 2005 I have been exclusively in private practice.

In 1996, I received my first certification as a pregnancy massage therapist through Kate Jordan Seminars. The next year, I went through the first phase of training to become a doula, but decided that was not my calling. In 2004, after giving birth to my own son, I returned to school for an additional certification in prenatal and postpartum massage at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. In 2006, I completed the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage professional training. I have studied energy medicine with a variety of teachers over the years and in 2011 completed my level two Reiki certification.

For more than 30 years I have been fascinated with health and healing. Through my own healing journey and the journey of others I have learned about acupuncture, chiropractic care, homeopathic, naturopathic and energetic medicine, transformative breath work, yoga, and very importantly, nutrition. I would love to help guide you in creating greater wellbeing for your body, mind and spirit.

My expertise is in supporting women preconception through postpartum. Having gone through the childbearing year myself, after struggling with infertility, I understand what a woman goes through on this complete journey. However, I enjoy working with the entire population. Whether it be to work out those tight areas, rehabilitate an injury, or simply relax and de-stress, I do my best to cater to the needs of my clients. Practicing massage therapy for nearly thirty years is a testament to the fact that I love my work. I am licensed in the state of Colorado and am a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (A.B.M.P.).
